The beloved Brooklyn pastor and Grammy-nominated gospel singer who survived a horrific Fourth of July car crash was cheered by some 2,500 followers Sunday at the Javits Center.
Paralyzed from the chest down, Rev. Timothy Wright (in wheelchair) recounted the accident on a Pennsylvania interstate that claimed the lives of his wife, Betty, 58, and grandson Danny Jr., 14.
"I was the only one not wearing a seatbelt, but I had a different seatbelt," he told the audience, amid cries of "Praise the Lord."
Wright, 61, the pastor of Grace Tabernacle Church on Pacific Street, said, "I'm still here for a reason" and ended his eight-minute talk saying, "The next time you see me, I'm going to be walking."
Police blamed the accident on a driver who was going the wrong way on Interstate 80.
Let’s continue to keep Rev. Wright and his family in prayer.
