ATTENTION New Minister's Wives! (245 hits)

This is an invitation to join my group W.I.S.D.O.M.

I've been a minister's wife for over 13 years and married for 16. I have personal first hand insight and Godly wisdom to impart to you. My heart goes out to you because I've been there, I know what its like to strive to be someone you are not. I know what its like to lose myself, and I know what its like to find myself again. This is not a social group, clique, or status group - its just one minister's wife speaking to other minister's wives and perhaps you can find friends outside of your local church (which may be necessary for you to do as a minister's wife or first lady of a church). Thank you so much. I would love to hear your views about dually called spouses. What happens when both are called and potential for conflict and strategies for resolution.

Sis. Cannings, thank you for your comment. I have been taught that as a minister's wife, we are thrice called and I personally hold to that same belief. 1. Called to be wives to the men we have married. 2. Called to our specific church/ministry to work alongside our husbands in one capacity or another 3. Called to our own special ministry as individual persons. We should never fail to remember that we are accountable to God for not fulfilling the call and purposes that He has placed on our lives as individual persons. We all know that God is a God of order, harmony, peace, and unity. God knows what He is doing when He calls both spouses to the ministry. Each of us is a specific member of The Body and have our own part to play, whether married or single. My husband and I are both pastors of our church. He is the Senior pastor, I am co-senior pastor and this is perfectly acceptable. The steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord therefore conflict is limited. When we walk in the spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. If there is ever a conflict, it would have to be as a result of the works of the flesh... and a BIG one is pride. At the risk of sounding "super spiritual": Strategy for resolution is prayer, fasting and getting into the Word. Because ministry always has been and always will be a "GOD thing" - never a "MAN thing", therefore everything regarding the ministry must be God led. Again, thank you for your comment. Pastor Pam
