Hello my Sisters!
I am new to blogging, in fact, this is my first blog and my first blog entry!!! This is the first blog because this is the first time I have something of worth that must be shared with the world. Sure I've delivered talks and keynote addresses on everything from Rocket Science to Africana Studies to Financial Investing, but there's nothing more important and more necessary to share than a testimony.
I have a few testimonies of my own, but today I am moved to share my grandmother's story. Her faith is so unfailing that she probably doesn't even see this story as a testimony. You see, she has lived 94 years and has come to expect a miracle. Never taking it for granted, but always expecting one just the same.
Fifteen years ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer. Her doctor explained that it was an aggressive form and prescribed chemotherapy, but advised her that she was up in years and that it may likely not go well. Two weeks later my grandmother reluctantly returned to the hospital as directed, for her first treatment of the therapy. As the doctor read the latest set of test results in order to tweak the dosage, he was puzzled. He called in another doctor in order to confer. As a third doctor was finally called in, my grandmother began to chuckle to herself. She realized what had them so disturbed. You see, in those two weeks before the chemotherapy was to start, my grandmother had daily visits with another kind of doctor. She read her Bible and prayed and connected in a most personal way to the Doctor of doctors - God the Father. What was baffling these young doctors was the power of God's Word. They were not versed in the power of being able to tap into a personal relationship with Jesus. The one who had healed her.
Today my grandmother is alive and well and cancer free. And she has been blessed with so many of God's miracles, she hardly remembers this one.
To God be the glory.
